Read’s Tower (900 m elev. gain)

Kona on Read’s Tower in late August. Spray Lake reservoir below, and just over Mt. Nestor’s ridge is Mt. Assiniboine, highest peak in the southern Canadian Rockies.

Powderface Ridge North (350 m elev. gain)

Kona on north end of Powderface Ridge at 7:40 am while still cool, to avoid the 30C+ end of July daytime high. Elbow valley peaks and Nihahi Ridge behind.

Mts. Glasgow, Cornwall, Banded in upper Elbow valley area.

Panorama Ridge East (1200 m elev. gain)

Kona on the East Summit of Panorama Ridge above Taylor Lake at 9:30 am to beat the heat in mid-July.

View back toward Taylor Lake and meadows with Storm Mountain just visible in the forest fire smoke (recent Numa Creek fire).

Still lots of snow in higher gullies.

Swampy meadows below ridge. Another week might have been a better time.

First snow-patch of the day for Kona to cool off a bit on a hot mid-July day. Mounts Fairview, Temple, Aberdeen and Lefroy behind, with Lake Louise below.
