Kona on Midnight Peak ascended from Baldy Pass in late February. Mount Baldy and McConnell Ridge directly behind. Further back are Door Jamb Mountain, Loder Peak, Goat Mountain and Mt. Yamnuska at right. Heart Mountain / Grant MacEwan Peak traverse at left just below Mt. Fable.
Kona (2 yrs) on Mount Allan Centennial Ridge route in late October. Mount Collembola and connecting ridge behind. Pigeon Mountain at left, Mount Yamnuska in distance (just past Kona’s nose).
Kona (1-1/2 yrs) on Yamnuska, ascending and descending via the left / west ridge which is the normal descent route for the scramble traverse. The east end approach has a difficult chains / chimney crux section that isn’t safe for dogs.

The chains traverse section on the east ridge ascent route is difficult even without a dog, and risky with a dog. We go up and down the west ridge route instead for less drama.
