Victoria Glacier (940 m elev. gain)

Kona eating her kibbles at a cool spot on the scree covered glacier with 30C+ temperatures in the valley below. Interesting view of Mount Fay in the gap across three valleys (Plain of Six Glaciers, Paradise, and Ten Peaks. Mount Temple looming over shoulder of Aberdeen, and Pinnacle Peak just behind shoulder of The Mitre behind shoulder of Lefroy.

Limestone Mtn. (650 m elev. gain)

Kona near top of south-west ridge of Limestone Mountain in late May, Mount Kidd behind.

Still lots of snow on The Fortress and Gusty Peak.

View of the normal alpine ascent route up Mount Kidd following the snow gully. A scrambling party is on the snow slopes somewhere today but we couldn’t locate them.

Grotto Mtn Hike (940 m elev. gain)

Kona at high point of hike up Grotto Mountain. Main summit in distance at far left. Didn’t meet anyone else on this route although parking lots at other trailheads were overflowing with vehicles on a Sunday during Covid.

Wasootch Ridge (715 m elev. gain)

View along Wasootch Ridge to starting point about 5 km away. Mount Lorette and the Lorette-Skogan-McGillivray traverse across the Kananaskis River valley behind. Wasootch Peak at left. Early December just before a snowy and colder weather system is arriving.

Mount Baldy (715 m elev. gain)

Kona descending Mount Baldy ridge in very dry early December conditions with Barrier Lake Reservoir below. Heart Mountain / Grant MacEwan Peak just above Kona’s head (see below for view in opposite direction).
